Victoria (Pierrette Robitaille), an ex-convict in her sixties, wants to start new life in a remote sugar shack. Under the supervision of Guillaume (Marc-André Grondin), a young, sympathetic parole officer, she tries to get her life back on track along with Florence (Romane Bohringer), her former cellmate with whom she shared years of intimacy in prison. Stalked by ghosts of the past, their new life together is unexpectedly jeopardized. Directed by Denis Côté, mysterious and unpredictable drama “Vic + Flo Saw A Bear” was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival 2013.

About the director:
Filmmaker and producer Denis Côté was born in 1973 in New Brunswick, Canada. He completed his studies in Arts and Cinema at Montreal's Ahuntsic College in 1992. Since then, he produced and directed around 15 low budget short films, screened in many international film festivals. Denis Côté worked as a radio show host and, from 1999 to 2005, he was film critic for a cultural magazine. He was also vice-president of the Quebec's Film Critics‘ Association from 2001 to 2006. His first feature film “Drifting States“ (Les états nordiques, 2005) won the Golden Leopard Award at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival (Switzerland), and “All That She Wants“ (Elle veut le chaos, 2008) and “Curling“ (2010) won Silver Leopard awards for Best Direction at Locarno in 2008 and 2010. D. Côté‘s documentary film “Bestiaryˮ (Bestiaire, 2012) was screened at the Kaunas International Film festival 2012.
