The Swimmer

Ariel (Eglė Valadkevičiūtė), young and promising swimmer, spends her summer preparing for the upcoming Olympics. In the pool, she meets Grete (Ugnė Beleckaitė) who has just started swimming lessons. Despite the age difference, two become friends, as Ariel helps Grete to overcome her fear of jumping into the water. However, Ariel's leg ache becomes more and more painful. “The swimmer” is a story about small and big fears, friendship and passion for swimming, stronger than anything.
About the director:
Gabrielė Urbonaitė is a young filmmaker, born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1993. She became professionally interested in film at the age of 14, when she joined “Skalvija” Film Academy. Since Fall 2012, she has been studying film production at Emerson College, Boston, USA.
