The movie “Blue Is the Warmest Color” is a creative adaptation of same name Julie Maroh’s comic. It is the director’s, actor’s and screenwriter’s A.Kechiche fifth film, which has received a Palme d’Ór . By exception, the award was dedicated not only to the director, but also to the debutante Adéle Exarchopoulos, who‘s role of Adele had been memorable and also to Léai Seydoux, to whom this movie was a chance to prove another role. The film “Blue Is the Warmest Color” tells a story on substantial subjects, such as school, family, first love and first job. Obviously, the director was not only concerned with the universal topic of love, but as well delicately, yet explicitly revealed how social determinism, family and tutors play a part in our society.
2013 – FIPRESCI Prize and Palme d‘Or Awards for Abdellatif Kechiche and actresses Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux at the Cannes Film Festival (France).
