It is a love story of Nijolė Bražėnaitė-Paronetto and Juozas Lukša- Daumantas. In 1948, Nijolė met Juozas in Paris and in 1950 they got married. Unfortunately, after a month they were forced to separate forever. J. Lukša-Daumantas, leader of the Lithuanian partisans, was killed in September 1951. In 1953, Nijolė emigrated to the USA and till 1957 she was unaware of her husband‘s death. The film tells us about tragic fates, determined by a history, and emphasizes Nijolės Bražėnaitės-Paronetto sacrifice for her country.
About the Director:
Vytautas V. Landsbergis was born on May 25, 1962 in Vilnius. In 1985, he graduated from Lithuanian philology at Vilnius University. He has studied cinema direction at Tbilisi Theatre Institute, interned Jonas Mekas Anthology Film Archives in New York and young European theatre directors’ courses in England. Vytautas V. Landsbergis has founded a film studio “A Propos” (till 2002 – its manager), made more than 20 documentary films. He has also published poetry casebooks and books for children.
