Angelina lives in a big city by the sea where the main occupation of attractive men and women is roaming the streets, flirting and loving. However, sweet, beautiful and smart Angelina is lonely. She is a police officer dealing with homeless children, orphans and risky teens. She is always ready to help, but her efforts are not always appreciated. Even her determined attempt to win the heart of her colleague Dimych at the dancing school proves to be a failure. One day a small boy explains to Angelina the reason why she is so lonely, boring and useless. These words make her pause and think. Angelina begins her journey from the darkness… Through long and accurate shots, the film shows the attempt of a young woman to make changes and let a little bit of sunshine into her dull life… The film premiered in “Un Certain Regard” section of the Cannes Film Festival programme.

2009 – Boris Kamorzin was recognised the best actor in Sochi Open Russian Film Festival.

About the director:
Nikolay Khomeriki was born in Moscow in 1975. He studied economics and cinema here, and – later – film directing in “La Fémis” film school in Paris, which he graduated in 2005 with a first-class diploma. The same year, his short debut film “Double” (Вдвоём) won the 2nd place in the “Cinéfoundation” programme section of Cannes Film Festival. His debut feature film “977” (Девять семь семь, 2005) with Yekaterina Golubeva was also screened in Lithuania.
