Kaunas International Film Festival Silver Audience Award goes to Heartbeats 2010 october 12The viewers of Kaunas International Film Festival voted for their favourite films this year and chose Heartbeats (Les Amours Imaginaires), directed by the Canadian wonder boy Xavier Dolan as the best film of the Festival. The producers of the film will receive the Silver Audience Award Cup and a valuable prize: substantial marketing of the film on all Non Stop Television channels - including the “Silver” channel. -

Winner of this year’s “Palm d’Or” to be screened in Kaunas International Film Festival 2010 september 13The 4th Kaunas International Film Festival will introduce its visitors to a number of worldwide critically acclaimed films. This October, audiences in Kaunas and Vilnius will have an opportunity to see films that have won the recognition of major film events, including the Cannes and Venice film festivals, namely Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (dir. Apichatpong Weerasethakul), Lebanon (dir. Samuel Maoz), Adrienn Pál (dir. Ágnes Kocsis), Heartbeats (dir. Xavier Dolan).
The festival’s programme offers a unique opportunity to see this year’s Palm d’Or winner Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, directed by the Thai artist Apichatpong Weerasethakul. It is a story about uncle Boonmee – who is seriously ill - and who can, in fact, remember his past lives and takes his loved ones down his memory lanes. The international jury of the Cannes Film Festival was enchanted by the magical, mysterious and inspiring film, which is based on local Thai stories and beliefs reflecting reincarnation and human connection to nature. -
Hungarian avant-garde filmmaker Béla Tarr to visit Kaunas International Film Festival 2010 september 9Kaunas International Film Festival in cooperation with the Hungarian Film Institute and Hungarian Cultural Institute in Tallinn will present a retrospective of the famous and unique Hungarian filmmaker and screenwriter Béla Tarr. The organisers are glad to announce that Béla Tarr has confirmed his participation in person at the Kaunas Film Festival.

Šarūnas Bartas’ Eastern Drift will premiere in Kaunas Film Festival 2010 august 16The 4th Kaunas International Film Festival will be opened with Eastern Drift (Indigène d'Eurasie) – the best Lithuanian film of 2010. The Lithuanian premiere of the latest film by Šarūnas Bartas will take place on October 1 in Kaunas.
The film was first introduced in Berlin Film Festival and has already received critical acclaim in many countries including Lithuania. This spring, Eastern Drift won three Silver Cranes – Lithuanian national film awards. Klavdiya Korshunova was acknowledged the best actress, Šarūnas Bartas was titled the best director, and the film itself received the award of the best Lithuanian film 2010. -
Kaunas International Film Festival announces Silver Audience Award 2010 august 3Quality movie channel “Silver” has become an official partner of Kaunas International Film Festival. This October, during the 4th edition of the festival, NonStop Television will establish the prize “Silver Audience Award”, where the festival audience in Kaunas will vote for their favourite film. The winning film will receive the “Silver Audience Award” cup and substantial marketing on NonStop Television’s channels.
“Silver” is a channel for cineastes which puts the spotlight on much talked about and critically acclaimed films produced outside the Hollywood studios. Focusing on contemporary film and its creators‚ “Silver” continuously highlights new directors‚ actors and film genres‚ giving the viewers a feeling of a film festival in their living room. In Lithuania, Silver is available through TEO, among various other cable TV providers.

Advertisement of Kaunas Film Festival awarded 2010 june 16Creative solutions of TV, print and outdoor advertising of Kaunas International Film Festival were appreciated in the Lithuanian advertising festival “ADrenalinas”.
The festival’s advertising campaign was designed by the creative partners of the festival – advertising agency Not Perfect, Dansu Production House, Kino Komanda and copywriter Antonio Bechtle.
The festival’s TV clip was awarded silver in the category of TV and Cinema Commercials for Services.
The festival’s print ads received a Silver Arrow, while outdoor advertisements were awarded bronze.
